Classes

Would you like to share in some unforgettable music making with your baby or tot? Please join us for "Tickle My Senses" and "Music Explorers" classes held at the Downtown Activity Centre in Salmon Arm.  These are interactive classes, wherein participants move to music, jam with percussion instruments, learn simple songs and enjoy multi-sensory props like finger puppets, bean bags  and conducting batons. While having fun, children also learn about some of the basics of music, like rhythm, pitch, timbre, dynamics and expression - and of course, in a group environment: the more the merrier!

2017's classes will be held on Wednesday mornings beginning on January 18th and continuing on January 25, February 1, 8, 15 & 22nd in the boardroom at the DAC, located at 451 Shuswap Street SE in Salmon Arm.  You and your wee one(s) are encouraged to check out a class to see whether it might be something you'd like to participate in and register for on an ongoing basis. Drop-in fees are $10/partner of child and mom, dad, grandparent, aunt or uncle. We learn a really cute repertoire of songs and activities and I've had grown-ups comment that they've had just as much fun participating in the classes as their children do!

Drop-ins are welcome for the first few classes, although I appreciate a heads-up in advance if possible so that I know how many materials to bring along with me .  If you know that this is something you'd like to commit to, you can register now if you'd like to participate in ongoing classes. I'm available to answer any questions you may have via phone, text, email or in person before and after classes.  Look forward to meeting you all! Trina 250-309-7807

Good News for Grown-ups!

Group music classes for adults will be happening in 2017. Upcoming offerings in the new year will include: Vocal Comfort Classes for adults who want to sing but aren't confident or comfortable with their own voices yet and Strum & Sing Sessions for those of you who have a guitar at home collecting dust but are secretly yearning to bust it out at the next campfire! These group classes are a great way to get motivated to get musical with others and have some fun with some favourite tunes while learning valuable techniques  and useful skills.

If you're interested in one of these classes, please drop me a line and I'll be sure to contact you when the 2017 schedule is set. Thanks in advance and please stay tuned for details.
